Logan Hope
LOGAN Hope is a Christ-centered K-8 school that provides rigorous, holistic education for under-resourced students in the Logan neighborhood of Philadelphia. They are committed to helping individuals and families who struggle daily with the effects of poverty and seek to transform the community by equipping students for academic success through character and leadership development. To achieve this, Logan Hope executes three main programs: a Christ-centered K-8 school, an after-school program, and a summer day camp program. All three programs provide rigorous, holistic education for under-resourced students in the Logan neighborhood.
Logan Hope’s Commitments
They are committed to CHILDREN.
They are committed to REFUGEES.
They are committed to PARISH MINISTRY.
They are committed to INCARNATIONAL MINISTRY.
They are committed to MULTI-ETHNIC MINISTRY.
They are committed to MINISTER AMONG THE POOR.
They are committed to RECONCILIATION and to the tearing down of the walls between people and God and between racial and ethnic groups, economic classes, and men and women.
They are committed to JUSTICE, both personal and structural.
We, as a church, partner with Logan Hope financially, and as the hands and feet of Jesus. We organize regular opportunities to go and serve the Logan Hope school and Logan neighborhood. We take volunteer teams to the school for summer cleaning and projects at the school property. During the Christmas season, we welcome the Logan Hope students to help lead our Christmas pageant, and we buy Christmas presents for a number of the children through Logan Hope’s Christmas present project. JOIN US in loving our neighbors well, by volunteering to serve on a summertime Saturday, or by “adopting” a Logan Hope student for Christmas.
Whosever Gospel mission
The Whosoever Gospel Mission is a Christian nonprofit organization whose purpose is to provide shelter, food, clothing, education, counseling, rehabilitation and other assistance to homeless and/or needy men (and hopefully one day also women and children) in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area. As the lighted sign on their rooftop proclaims each night, they seek to offer the love of Jesus and the hope of the Gospel in both word and deed to those who are hurting. They operate a residential New Life Program for homeless men year-round, and anticipate opening Hannah’s Place, a residential facility for homeless or needy moms and their young children, in the future.
We partner with Whosever Gospel Mission year round, and directly serve on Saturdays 5-6 times a year on work projects to keep the property tidy, repaired, and rejuvenated AND in the thrift store sorting through donations!
GROW ESL, NE PHILA.
GROW works to bring hope to many immigrants and refugees who are living in nearby neighborhoods of Northeast Philadelphia. They are a "Word and Deed" ministry, teaching English along with life skills, in order to help immigrants thrive in their new communities.
Volunteer teachers share the Gospel and pray for students in every class, while offering their love and friendship. Recently a student from Belarus asked for a Russian Bible to help her understand God's word!
You can participate by being a conversation partner in one of these Cafes — no experience needed, just a willingness to "chat" in English.
GROW serves over 400 adult students each trimester in two neighborhoods: Mayfair and Bustleton. Still, there are many on the waiting list that cannot be accommodated.
