REV. JAY TRAYLOR
ASSOCIATE PASTOR

A mid-career transitioner to pastoring, Jay did 20+ years in the bar and restaurant business before feeling called to ministry in 2013. After graduating from Reformed Theological Seminary, he has been a pastoral intern and deacon in Washington DC, a pastoral curate in Raleigh, North Carolina, a church planter in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, and an assisting priest in another St. John's, this one in Franklin TN.

Jay and his wife Elizabeth are big proponents of Gospel hospitality and a liturgical pattern for life. They post weekday Morning Prayer videos, and practice an open home and an open table whenever possible. Jay is an avid middling golfer, loves cycling and reading. Elizabeth was a professional actor for 25 years, mostly in Atlanta, and is currently pursuing a Masters in Worship Theology from the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies.

Together with their son Gus, the Traylors are thrilled to be joining the St. John’s family.
