This Holy Communion Service takes us through the Old Testament (Genesis and Exodus) to the Crucifixion and Resurrection. Please join us at St. John’s for this special worship service.

Christ Is Crucified

Please join us in worship as we observe the Crucifixion of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Foot Washing and Holy Communion

This day commemorates Jesus’s last supper with his disciples. During that meal in the upper room, Jesus washed his disciples’ feet and gave them a new commandment: “Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another” (John 13:34).

Commination of Ashes and Holy Communion

Everyone is welcome to join us for this special service to start the season of Lent.

This is an opportunity to learn more about the organization of St. John’s Anglican Church.

Church members will vote for two new Vestry Members. The congregation will see the financial state of the Church and its various ministries.

Our theme for February is Souper Sunday.

Bring your favorite soup or bread. And then join in the fellowship here at St. John’s.

The Series is a multi-volume video series that gives men a vision for manhood as modeled by Jesus in his 33 years on earth.

This Congregational Meeting meets following 10am Worship.

The Meeting is a review of the previous year. It concludes with church members voting for new Vestry Members.

Please bring 5 dozen cookies (homemade or store bought) so that we can make up some care packages for those who can’t get out or need a little Cheer during this season and a few to take home. We will have a sign up sheet on Sunday. We will have some brunch items and refreshments, so that we can enjoy this time together.

The congregation enjoys the fellowship of this event. It’s a great way to catch up with one another and, of course, meet new people who are attending our church.

Make your own Advent Wreath to keep at home. Please bring greens if you can. Other supplies will be provided.

Study on 1st Thessalonians

Continues on Zoom for the present. We meet on Monday nights, twice monthly from 7 to 8:15. The dates for October are the 9th and 23rd. We will be studying 1st Thessalonians this fall. This groups meets monthly on the second Saturday of the month and is led by Pastor Josh. We are exploring the series Authentic Manhood. All men are welcome!

Whosoever Gospel Mission, 101 E. Chelten Ave. in Germantown, Phila.

The Whosoever Gospel Mission is a Christian nonprofit organization whose purpose is to provide shelter, food, clothing, education, counseling, rehabilitation and other assistance to homeless and/or needy men, women and children in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area. As the lighted sign on our rooftop proclaims each night, we seek to offer the love of Jesus and the hope of the Gospel in both word and deed to those who are hurting.

We will be working alongside the men which provides an excellent opportunity to share our testimony with them and get to know their story a little bit. We will also have lunch with them, provided by the Mission. This is a family safe time if you feel led to bring your children along to serve. 

We will start at 10am sharp. Paul will arrive about 15 minutes early if you want to go straight there. If you want to meet at the church, please arrive no later than 9am. We will be doing cleaning, light maintenance and yard cleanup primarily. Paul will have a full list of projects about one week beforehand so everyone can plan accordingly.

Book of Ecclesiastes

We will have a Bible study on the seldom-read, often-avoided, routinely-misunderstood book of Ecclesiastes. We plan to meet Monday evenings in the library, 7:00 to 8:15pm. Gospel of Luke Study Continues

We meet 10 am on Wednesdays at the church. If you would like to be part of a women’s fellowship with prayer and Bible study, but this one does not fit your schedule or needs, please email or call me with details of what would work for you. We will see if we can get like-minded sisters in Christ together. (If you are coming for the first time I need your email to send handouts.)
